We have been using Proofpoint TAP - "Targeted Attack Protection" with great success. Their dashboard is nice in that you can drill down easily and see what the item caught was, exactly what it would have tried to edit, or infect and shows you any users that may have clicked on the link.

It caught one thing that standard EOP did not, but it doesn't catch everything that you might expect it to. We also have a few messages every few days that timeout during scanning which we then have to manually send on to recipients. I've never ussd Mimecast. We currently use Exchange Online Protection which it is having difficulties capturing all malicious emails. As we are already using EOP I guess the cheapest and easiest solution would be to go to Microsoft, but looking for feedback for anyone that has either of the two products?
