What is the DFL and FFL? There isn't anything wrong with using 2012 DCs in an
Exchange 2010 environment, as long as the DFL/FFL are not above Server 2008.

Yes, when you run the upgrade from the command line you can specify a /DC:
switch to use a specific domain controller.

You can also (using the Set-ExchangeServer cmdlet from the Exchange Management
Shell) specify static domain controllers for Exchange to use.

Subject: [Exchange] Unsupported DC's and 2010 SP

Hi All,

So I've had an oversight, well a few :). Customer is on 2010 RTM (I know, I
know) and we have some 2012 DC's in place with a 2008 one as well. The GUI has
some trouble refreshing some information panes at times, but it works and we
can make changes. My guess is those hit the 2008 server since I got involved
in this. I need to get it patched up. I am thinking of moving FSMO's to the
2008 and rebooting the Exchange box and running SP3. Anyone done this by
chance? Is there a way to bind the upgrade process to the 2008 server? Sorry
been a while since I have been maintaining exchange boxes!!
