All desktops are upgraded to Office 2016 c2r. Got the book. Need to read it. đ
I think I have convinced them to move all Shared Group Mailboxes (even if not truly shared mailbox defined at this point in Exchange) and then later, look at the functionality introduced by both Groups and Teams. Maybe someone else can do that while I finish the migration, remove Public Folders, set up a way to migrate PST data, and decommission Exchange 2010. đ Alice From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael B. However, without knowing âwhyâ I canât give you suggestions as to âwhy notâ. If management wants to use something âbecause itâs thereâ; there is no effective way to fight that decision. The only generic reason I can think of is âclient supportâ. If you arenât using Office 2016 c2r, you will find that your client applications donât have full support for all functionality. I think your best bet for real-world documentation is âOffice 365 for IT Prosâ written by a few friends of mine. Itâll give you the good, bad, and support points. https://practical365.com/<https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=https://practical365.com/&c=E,1,KZJr-SgigFlprLzFdpi-6L73CCHVngiriZIgi2eMKQ-aH1Dm1sBco9Dw8LsenATTIQTudxh0m0lCxYMSuQYFX5D5BA_AAMhvWKfkKkBxmEbSOMsye37e&typo=1> From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Alice Goodman Sent: Wednesday, January 31, 2018 9:25 PM To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Subject: RE: [Exchange] Shared Group Mailboxes migrating to EXO I donât want to switch.. some manager who drank the MS Kool Aide does.. There are several TechNet forums that do Office 365. The real question is WHY do you want to switch? Teams and groups may offer benefits â but only if you are going to change processes to take advantage of those benefits. For example, I just had a meeting where the new manager is telling me not to migrate shared mailboxes to Office 365 as we move to EXO. She wants to move to Groups and Teams. I almost had a cow. But where can I find out best practices for this so I can come back with some information? I want to migrate users AND their shared mailboxes and once established, they can go at it and do what they want.. but leaving shared mailboxes behind in Exchange 2010 is making a TON of work for me. I have to add each user to now have âsend on behalf ofâ to each shared group mailbox as âSend Asâ does not work consistently across on-prem to EXO. So asking.. AND I changed the Subject. :) Thanks, Alice
