Make sure that the account you are using to connect to 5.5 is active, and
also make sure that the port is configured correctly on the 5.5 side. I had
this problem last week. Turned out that our 5.5 admin guy had been fiddling
with ldap settings on his side, to see who would complain.
Try turning up the LDAP operations logging to max on the ADC. That's how I
spotted it.

Maybe someone can help me with this. I have set up a recovery machine and
