This should be a simple calculation. Estimate the size required for a
reasonably busy day, to allow for backup failures multiply by the number of
days you can afford to miss. If you don't backup at weekends add in the
weekend traffic. Given that your logs should ideally be in a physically
separate spindle, round up to the next multiple of available drive size.
Chances are that a single 9GB drive will be sufficient (its difficult to
find anything smaller these days).

Is there a standard metric/percentage of what size the tranaction log
drive should be?  for example if your storage group contains 5 databases
each with a 32 gb capacity, how large should you transaction log drive
be? Also taking into account that there are nightly backups and circular
logging is not enabled.
