What version of Veritas might this be? I use BE and I didn't have to do
this for my Exchange backups. I have to do this for SQL because the DBAs
want to get an e-mail every time a backup runs, but that was just a "nice to
have", not a requirement.
If, however, you are trying to do BLBs as Michele speculates, CUT IT OUT!

Subject: Exchange 5.5 & Backup Exec
Hi all ...
I am using Veritas Backup Exec (BE) for the first time and have installed
the Exchange Agent. A unique mailbox has to be created for the Agent's
user, so it can 'log in' to the BE application. Such a mailbox has been
created and attached to a new domain account for the BE 'user', but when
it is specified in BE, it fails to log in.
If another mailbox is created and assigned with the Admin account, there
is no problem! I have replicated the permissions granted to Admin for the
BE user but it still fails to connect to the backup software.
Any ideas ?
Cheers,
Tim
