Under the "Advanced" tab of your Exchange Server properties, in your
profile, what's the "Logon Network Security" set to?

Here's the little help doodad they give you:
"Specifies a password authentication option. To log on to Microsoft
Exchange Server with the same network security password that you
established when you logged on to your network, click NT Password
Authentication. If you select None, you will be prompted for your logon
password when you start Outlook. Consult your network administrator to
determine which option to select."

It seems to work when you enter the requested info, but why is it
asking?
All of the event logs are looking fine as of right now, and WINS seems
to be
running smoothly.

What happens when you enter the prompted info? Does it work?
Anything odd in the event logs of your Domain controllers? No WINS
problems?

I apologize for forgetting the following:

It's a 5.5 server running SP3.

Clients appear to be Outlook 2000

No recent changes have been made on any of the systems involved.

Subject: Outlook prompts for User Info

Just today several of my users, including myself have started seeing
Outlook
suddenly prompt for the following:

User id

Domain

Password.

What would cause this to suddenly start happening. This can happen at
any
time: at logon, composing a message,
logging off, etc... I have tried to search the archives as well as
TechNet,
but haven't found an answer yet. If anybody has seen this and can
suggest a
fix for it please let me know.

Thanks...

Chad Bryan
