Thanks Chris,  that's what I guessed the answer was.  I did receive your
message, although the address was slightly different from what your message
said it would be.  I will take a couple of NO-DOZE and read those RFCs.

Because that's how SMTP mail works? [EMAIL PROTECTED] just
sent you a mail message in a completely RFC compliant manner.. and I'm
fairly sure he wasn't logged onto your network or using a POP3 client at the
time.

RFC821 & 822 explain it all in amazing detail.
