Why does the server have to have a different name?

Hi all,
I am new to the list and am after any suggestions to move our
current Exchange server to a new BDC server. The new server will have
different IP and Name, and I am looking for a way to make this change
invisible to clients... I do not want to have to visit 200 odd PC's to
make changes..
