Hey boss,
Did you reboot after the uninstallation of the AV software? Check the
registry for any remains of your AV software. Remove any entries that
remain and reboot and try again.
Make sure any and all AV software is not installed or running.

I'm upgrading my Server which is running W2K SP1 with
MSEXCHANGE 5.5 Standard SP4 ------> to MSEXCHANGE 5.5 Enterprise SP4,
because my Priv EDB is about 16GB and there is a limitation of the
standard version (wich I've discoverd in the HARD WAY)....
The problem is, when I run the setup program after input the
serial number the system returns the following message: Your upgrade did
not complete successfully. Please restart your Microsoft Exchange
Services and your system will behave as it did before the upgrade was
attempted. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for more
information. Microsoft Exchange Server Setup

The Technet articles tells something about the anti-virus
program, wich I've unistalled after read that..., but the error
persists...
In my lab enviroment (Fake PDC + W2K SP1 with MSEXCHANGE 5.5
Standard SP4 [same database in production]) the upgrade proceed with no
errors.....
It worked because on that lab I didn't install the AV
(norton av for MSEX)....
QUESTION: Do I get ALL the INFORMATION AND CONFIGURATION
only by backing up PRIV.EDB PUB.EDB and DIR.EDB ????
