My $.02:
I don't know most of the folks on this list serve, but I have great
respect for the technical value of much of the information given out.
And there is a wry humor that many folks take the wrong way. I don't
always get it, but I sit back and listen, like a kid at the grown-up's
table.
I would agree that Nostradamus is not predictive of Tuesday's events, or
indeed of any future events. He wrote his quatrains in medieval French,
which means that many of the words that rest on modern concepts and are
attributed to these quatrains simply did not then exist. For those words
which did exist there is still some amount of controversy among French
linguistic experts as to the appropriate interpretation for individual
words or phrases. Additionally, in order to avoid censure by the
Catholic hierarchy, he wrote his quatrains in code, but left no
directions for understanding the code. In unimaginable times, we would
like to believe that there is someone who foresaw what is happening
because we need to feel the security offered by that belief. That the
incomprehensible is in fact known.
I agree that the signal to noise ratio on the serve has been high
lately; I think that only by talking and by going back to our routines
do we start to reclaim (or create) some sanity for our lives in the
midst of this mindlessness.
But I could be wrong......
