Outlook 98 does not support distribution lists in the contacts folder. You need Outlook 2000 or higher.

We are using Exchange 2k on a Win2k box w/Outlook 98 clients. Win2k is up to date but I still need to install SP 1 on Exchange. We had lost our Linux mail server and so I had to rebuild all of my users on the server end and then reconfigure each machine at the client end. I imported thier .pst files into thier exchange mailboxes and the .pab files into thier contacts folder. This moved thier Address Book entries into Contacts. Thats not a real problem but when we go into Outlook Address Book or try to add an entry to Contacts we get a new entry box that says "You cannot create entries for this address book". This happens no matter which list we select. Since all of our personal distribution lists did not import over to Exchange it has become a bit of an annoyance. I must be missing something. My gratitude in advance for any help offered. Thanks. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
