I'm trying to upgrade my 5.5 site to 2000, but get an error. The server was a PDC NT4 and was the only server in this Domain. The server was upgraded to Windows 2K ADV and Active Directory. (Mixed Mode) All went ok. The 5.5 SP4, single site/server Exchange installation on it, also functions ok.
I installed the Active Directory Update from the Exchange 2000 CD - Worked ok. I am now running setup, when I change the role to "Upgrade", I get The Component "Microsoft Exchange Messaging & Collaboration Service" cannot install because the directory service is not the expected type. It also asks to check for the LDAP port in the same message. Any ideas? Is it the Mixed mode active directory state or is there something else Ive missed? Thanks.
