Yea I know it's been a royal pain in the a$$ over here. They want something done but won't fully upgrade us to 2000 to set this up the right way. Well what I have tested is I have there 2k and exch2k server on one subnet. I have our nt 4.0 and our Exchange 5.5 on another subnet. I have WINS replicating between the to sites. I setup a 2 way ADC and have gotten information to tranfer from both sites. But when I bring down the Exchang 2K from their AD (which removes it out of AD) and reinstall it into their AD but into our Organization, it prompts me to either create a new org. Or join an existing org. Which when I do that places their server in the same site as ours. Which I think plainly sucks. Just cause of the fact that Management is pushing to get something done. And it's not going to get done the right way. I can send email between the 2 sites just fine, calendar appts are working fine.
But my main concern is that since their 2nd server was removed improperly that it will cause a problem with removing all AD entries for Exchange? Does that make any sense? If not I apologize. They are running Win2K and Exch2K. They had 2 Exchange servers in their site. Well them being retards removed one of the servers improperly. They basically just shut the machine off and wiped it out and set it up for some other purpose. Now, we were planning on removing their Exchange (the right way) and setting it back up from scratch under our organization. My question is, since they didn't remove the 2nd server correctly out of their AD, when we go to re-setup their Exchange server under our organization is it NOT going to prompt us to create a new Org or Join an existing one? If not, is there anything I can do to fix that problem so we can move somewhat seemless with this transition?
