Two points on that comment, Martin.

First, if SSL is enabled on the server, security is not compromised. I'd do
that anyway, even with MSCHAP enabled.

Second, with Exchange 5.5, unless you have the mailboxes on your OWA server,
plain text authentication is required for communication between your OWA
server and your other mailbox servers. I don't know how this may have
changed with Exchange 2000 and Front-end/back-end systems.

I have a prejudiced, resistant, "doens't want to learn anything new",
high-level executive that is a Netscape drone (as opposed to a MS drone)
and a sys admin who runs nothing but Linux and Solaris as a prinipal.

I personally don't advocate for self limitations.
