I've ran across this problem quite a few times while working at a large car company
(not to be named). This was happening a couple times a week there and we used the
Exchange 5.0 client to rename the inbox. Log into the users mailbox with the client
and you should have no problem renaming. The 5.0 client will work on both W2k and NT
4.0.

MS told us it was a corrupted calendar appt that was the culprit.

Boy, do i feel dumb. First off, NO, i don't have a Exchange Resource Kit
and second off, i don't know HOW to run nt4 mail client. "Mail" in the
control panel is, of course, the 'profile manager' for Outlook. Ah, but
maybe, just maybe, i can find a copy of outlook 97 lying around the house.

Thanks!
