Ok, I have XP. The nick2k.exe does not seem to work for XP. I had an old .nick file from before I upgraded to XP that worked great with nick2k. I was able to open the nk2 file in notepad and did see the incorrect entry for c1234. Don't know how to remove it since I don't know the record layout.
I guess I could just delete the profile. That leads to the next question. I have 15,000 users half with Outlook98 and half with Notes. Of that there is some percentage that sends to c1234. Of that group there is an even smaller subset that have a corrupted/old entry in the nick file. There are also various other accounts that are having issues. As we move our Notes users and Notes utility mailboxes to Exchange the issue will probably come up more and more. We use login scripts to push, map and do various things. How do I fix the corrupted/old entry remotely? I guess I could just delete the nick file on a weekly/monthly basis. However, everyone would probably start screaming bloody murder then. Using the nick2k tool might become problematic if there are enough users with the issue. Does anyone have any further thoughts? In Outlook 2002 , there is also a .nk2 file .. Or, Michael, you can download the nick2k.exe file from Microsoft that will allow you to view and delete individual nicknames w/o deleting the profile. -----Original Message----- From: Monteleone-Haught Matt - Millville [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, October 22, 2001 3:05 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Outlook ANR issue Recreating your profile will assure you have a new NICK file. Or you could close down OL and go into your profile and delete the %profilename%.NICK file. Search your drive for *.NICK .
