Well, you can't use the /ispriv switch if you plan to do that. You will need to specify exactly where the database is. I've never tried to do that though. I believe ESEUTIL actually starts the data engine etc. Why not just slap an Exchange install on your recovery server and just overwrite the 1MB edbs with what you have. You should be fine unless you attempt to start the services.
