Not familiar with your first issue, but your second problem is consistent with a locked account/expired password... I could be miles off, but it's identical behaviour to what I see with Exch 5.5

It refused to let me in even then. A couple of reboots and all was well, but it caused some concern. Does this happen to anyone else?
