I'm ready to get flamed for this one. (Be gentle)....Better to learn the hard way then not at all.
I have heard everyone talk about not "relaying" mail or not allowing the "relaying" of mail. But what exactly does that mean? For example, I have my system setup to NOT relay mail as per the FAQ. However, it states to enable routing (Reroute incoming SMTP) and then enable routing restrictions. Let's assume I don't need POP3 or IMAP4. I just want to use Mapi clients internally and use OWA for external clients. Do I need to enable routing to send and receive internet mail for my domain? I've tried turning it off (Do not reroute) but then I cannot receive external mail. Sorry for my ignorance but I'm confused on this one. What is the best way to do this? My idea is to setup a second SMTP relay that authenticates to the primary. This would be my relay for incoming and outgoing mail. Still, how do you configure the routing tab to prevent spamming and relaying accordingly? _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
