Then it's not working right! I found this exerpt from a Microsoft newsgroup!
Found this on Microsoft Newsgroup. ------------------------------------- (Excerpt) At Exchange 2000 server, go to SMTP Virtual Server Properties, access section. Check the first two options. I didn't care about the last one, but you might wantto check that as well. Go to relay section. Select "Only the list below" and check "Allow all computer...". If you want to add some static IPs and domains to the list, you can add them. At the client side (outlook express, 2000 or Netscape messenger), go to email account properties and turn on authentication for outgoing mails. Having the above settings I achieved following: 1. My server is no more an open relay. 2. Users from dial-up connection (hence dynamic IP) can use authenticated SMTP server. 3. People from within the intranet use the SMTP server. 4. People that are authorized to use the SMTP server, can send/receive emails to/from internal and external accounts. --------------end Murphy -----Original Message----- From: Bob Sadler [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, November 27, 2001 10:49 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Exchange 2000 Relay E2K comes with NO RELAYING already setup. hth Bob Sadler City of Leawood, KS, USA Internet/WAN Specialist 913-339-6700 X194 [EMAIL PROTECTED] <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> *********************************************************************** ARTHUR: What does it say?
