OL98 or higher?  If yes, then right click on the "Mailbox - Joe EndUser"
folder and go to properties, then click "folder size".  What does it say?
My guess would be "Sent Items", "Deleted Items" or "Journal" are where you
will find the most items.  
32K or 32000K?  32K seems a little small.
