I am noticing a load of blocked port 113 attempts in my FW log since we have
started moving to Exch server.
I read the stuff below and wonder if anyone else is doing this?

How port 113 can cause problems with your email
One system that still regularly attempts to use Authd is sendmail, a very
popular mail server. It will try to establish the userid of a user
initiating a connection to send mail. While it not requires a successful
reply to function, it will wait up to 5 minutes in its default configuration
for a reply from Authd.
Many firewalls are setup by default to not reply at all to connection
attempts. This will make sendmail wait the specified timeout duration before
accepting any mail. If you instead have the firewall reply with a
'connection rejected' message, the mail server will stop waiting and process
your mail right away.
So if you installed a firewall and have noticed that your email service has
gotten sluggish, see if there is a correlation between your sending mail and
your firewall logging accesses to port 113. If so, try opening up port 113
on your firewall so that the mail server will be happy.
