Let's see... The application makes a explicit call to open the application
called Outlook - its part of the OLE (or whatever they call it this week)
specifications. OLE server applications (ones that can be called by other
applications) get registered to the system, and it's a simple line or two of
code to call that application.

Really quite handy, in the right hands.
