Nine Attorneys General want Windows to be unbundled

WASHINGTON, Dec. 7 - The nine state attorneys general still pursuing an
antitrust case against Microsoft asked a federal court Friday to force the
company to sell a stripped-down or unbundled version of its flagship Windows
operating system as part of a penalty to for having been found guilty of
being a predatory monopoly. The proposal, if approved, would also force
Microsoft to release the blueprints to its Internet Explorer browser,
allowing anyone to build or expand on it for free.
