It's not designed specifically to be a mail content filtering application. If by 'as good as $product' you mean can it be used to filter based on subject or content, sure... But in terms of usability and supportability, I think it lags somewhat. It also has no innate virus filtering capabilities that I'm aware of.
If I already had a procmail expert in house who wanted to set up a box to do additional filtering, I suppose I might let him have at it, but as I have issues with most content filtering applications in general, there's a good chance I might not.
