Yesterday I started having an issue where outgoing email is not working
and is queuing up. Incoming email is working fine. The issue is, I'm
sure, related to the fact that one of my co-workers accidentally moved the
5.5 Service Account mailbox from the 5.5 mailbox server to the 5.5 IMC
server. He thought he was moving a user but that's besides the point at
this time. The password was NOT changed on the service account.

My Exchange setup is as follows:
 -- Single site, single domain
 -- Two Exchange 2000 mailbox servers (Win2k sp2, Ex sp1)
-- One Exchange 5.5 mailbox server (NT 4.0 sp6 and Ex sp3 which was the
first 5.5 server in the site)
-- One Exchange 5.5 server with just the IMC (NT 4.0 sp6, Ex sp4)

The problems have been happening ever since that time. When you look in
the event logs of both show Event ID's 9316, 9317 which all point to a
security issue involving RPC's. The TechNet articles all point to
problems with the service account. I had already prepared the 5.5 mailbox
server for deletion by moving the Offline Address Book, etc.. to one of
the 2000 servers as per TechNet. That was done a few weeks ago without
incident. I have gone back and verified the password is correct, re-typed
it in both 5.5 and 2000, re-typed it for all the 5.5 services that run on
it but I'm stumped. In stopping/starting all of the Exchange services on
the IMC server I was able to get it to go for a little while and email did
flow but it only lasts a short time then all outgoing email stops.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
