Your thinking would be faulty. You can set up a postmaster mailbox to receive copies of NDRs, but not to act as a "black hole".

There is a good reason for this. I have a very good friend of mine that had a company. The company is going out of business, believe that or not. I have moved his domain over to my DNS servers, and setup my Exchange server to receive his domain's e-mail. His company had about 200 employees with e-mail addresses, which is way more than I care to sit and enter as aliases.
