What has happened, is that the original server stored the rules as guids
for the folders etc, these will have changed because you have 'exmerged'
the users, in some part Q314739 applies, but I can't find the original Q
article, which explains this.

What you need to do, is to ensure that each of your moved users has an
X500 address that points to your old system, then each user has to open
their rules wizard and re-set the destination part, the server will be
able to work out the sender part when the x500 address is in place.

Each mailbox is limited to 32K of rules, and this isn't something you
can change. I don't know why the space that the rules are occupying
would have changed, but it sounds like you're at the limit...

Can you incorporate a couple of your rules into one rule?

Subject: Problem with Inbox Rules after Exmerge

This weekend I completed an upgrade to Exchange 2000 using Exmerge.
Everything worked pretty smoothly. However I am encountering a problem
with rules. I did select the options to bring over associate folder
properties (not sure of exact name in exmerge) but now am having
problems storing or deleting rules. I only have one rule left on the
server and I am unable to delete it. As well if I try to store a rule
on the server I get the following error after creating the rule.

There is not enough space on the Microsoft Exchange Server to store all
of your rules. The rules that failed to upload have been deactivated.

We definately have enough space. Is there a way to
delete/reset/configure rules on the server?

Thanks.

Louanne
