as has been said 1000 times before, DON'T DO THIS.  Use a VPN solution.
PPTP is free.  It will take you no longer to figure that out than the
convoluted port mapping for E2K and will be loads more secure.

Would you consider putting your domain controller outside the firewall?
That's actually what you're asking for instructions to do here.

When we used 5.5 to modify the registry keys to set statict ports to let
external users open SA,IS,DS we used 9005,9006,9007 do we need to hange
these ports in MSx2000 to some values in the 1024-5000 range? do we need to
open another ports? our NT domain is still in mixed mode.
