Offline Folder Sync Use regedit and under: HKey_CurrentUser,Software,Microsoft,Office,9.0,Outlook, NoOst.
You can either remove the NoOst Key or change it: Value of 0 (or no key) will set up calendar caching and the user can set up and use an offline store. Value of 1 is calendar caching only and the user cannot set up offline store. I have Outlook 2000 in which the client is running an application through public folders. To make this application work, all clients must be able to work offline using an .ost file. When I go to the clients that are on a desktop, the option for the .ost is no longer available. I found Q246052 that states if you have Terminal services offline folders will not be available. I looked and have no terminal services activated on the client. Anyone know why 2000 disables .ost files on the desktop? Does it have to have a modem installed or is there a reg key that I can modify to open it up? I tried on Outlook 98 that I had installed on a test box and the option is there. What am I missing here?
