To add to Wm's two suggestions:

I use Listserv from Lsoft, and find it extremely powerful, though with a
quirky and unweildy interface. I can recommend it, though, because the
power overrides the rest. If you're looking for free, Mercury
http://www.pmail.com/overviews/ovw_mercwin.htm has been out for a while
and works on Win95 and up. Lyris? You're soaking in it. So you can
see it also works well with high volume/high subscriber lists.

If I had it to do over again, based upon the volume of lists the
managers said we would need, vs. the volume of lists we actually host,
I'd be all over Mercury Mail like a donkey on a waffle, and put it on a
P-166 or something.

Exchange is not really a list server.

Subject: Exchange as a 'list' server

Hi all,

We currently have a 'list' server, hosted by a third party on a Unix
box. The admin functions are made via a browser session. The application
is 'Mailman' (unfortunately, that's about all I know). It's a pain to
manage !

I am keen to establish 'self-reliance' and therefore manage the list
in-house. Can my Exchange 5.5 server facilitate 'lists' of this sort ?

Thanks,

Tim
