Greetings Exchange List Members, recently my organisation merged with another. My counterpart within the other organisation and I were charged with the task of connecting the mail systems without creating a trust relationship between the 2 NT domains. We have achieved this using the Interorg Directory replicator, and the Interorg replicator tool for Free/Busy data. The Free/Busy aspect has operated with great success, however the Interorg Directory replication has proved to be very unreliable and requiring of a large amount of operator intervention to keep it working. We were aware before embarking on this project that this tool is frequently plagued with problems, however it was not our decision to make. Therefore to make the best of a bad situation I'm asking you all for your advice and assistance. So far we have encountered and corrected such problems such as mailboxes with dashes in the directory/alias name halting further replication. Other problems have been fixed using brute force by deleting all recipients, resetting the counters and replicating
Now after a single successful full replication of all mailboxes in the address book, it has stopped updating changes all together. We are using version 1.2.0.0 of the InterOrg replicator. There are references in Technet to a later version which can only be obtained via PSS; however as we have a sparse budget calling PSS is not an option. Can anybody say if this newer version will help? Can you help me find it if so? If there is a more reliable product that can do the same thing can you please tell me? (We are looking into writing our own script version currently) Our configuration is as follows Us: All connected with site connectors: Site One: 2 Exchange servers 5.5 sp4 and NT4 sp6a Site Two: 1 Exchange server 5.5 sp4 NT4 sp6a Site Three: 2 Exchange servers 5.5 sp4 NT4 sp6a. 1 server is running the IMS, the other Interorg/freebusy only Them: 13 sites connected with X400 Exchange 5.5 sp2 NT4 sp6a 1 site with 2 servers. First is 5.5 sp2 with IMC, second is 5.5 sp4 with Interorg/freebusy only Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide -Glyn _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
