I suspect you're trying to join the existing site when you install Exchange; you need to create a new server in a new organisation and site where you keep the names identical; I presume you've isolated a domain controller and can install exchange under the same user as your original server. Once installed, restored and connected on your isolated lan segment the two servers should 'bond' and behave as your original servers in your original site.
