Currently Running nt4.0. SP6a on my exchange servers ex.5.5 sp4. I
understand that I needed to have my exchange server running as
a domain controller (BDC) in-order to have site connectors work properly.
Currently running AD windows 2000 for the rest of the servers in the
domain.
I keep reading in the MS White Paaper on upgrading ex.5.5 to e2k about DL's
mapping to Universal dist groups & Universal sec groups. How you need to
configure the ADC to replicate dist lists objects into a native mode domain.
Looking at installing my first W2K & E2k Server into my Ex.5.5 site. - the
server at the other site that I have the connector for is
running nt4.0 & ex.5.5 on a BDC.
Questions:
(1). Is their a need for me to make my 1st e2k server a DC in-order to
keep the site connector working properly?
(2). Do I actually need to run my W2K domain in native mode for the Dist.
List to get mapped properly in the AD?
(3) If I'm still running mixed-mode in my domain - will I have serious
problems with my DL's - if so are there any
work arounds. I'll most likely be running Exchange in mixed-mode
for quite awhile until I merge the other site into
my E2K & W2K domain.
Thanks
Ron Pennell
