Open up the mailbox with the old Exchange client and delete the entire
folder. Open it up with Outlook and the folder will be recreated empty.

Alternatively try smaller blocks, say 500-1000 at a time.

Subject: Journal Folder

Is there an easier way of deleting over 5,000 items within a user's
Journal folder, aside from deleting them one by one? If I highlight all
the documents and hit Shift + Del, it attempts to delete the items.
But, after a minute, it returns a message saying there is not enough
system memory to complete the operation.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!
