I know this is off topic, except some of the problems we have had were with Outlook. A statement I had made about Dell pc's having so many problems brought many responses that were pro and con. After some experiments, I now wonder if the problem does not have something to do with how Windows 2000 has been loaded on the computer. So far the Dell's have been perfect in regards to hardware as far as I know.
The pre-loaded pc's have had strange networking problems and the pc's that I did a complete restore on have worked better in some cases, but not in all cases. It now appears running the Windows 2000 repair on the flaky pc's have (fingers crossed, fixed all the issues). The other issues were applications that quit working after a couple of days such SQL applications and web folders. Thinking about this, the first Windows 2000 installs we did were fresh installs from a real Windows 2000 CD (not a restore CD). I would be Very interested in comments in regards to the pitfalls from using restore CD's or pre-loaded systems.
