We have a small exchange 5.5 organization that resides in a AD domain. The AD domain does not have any Exchange 2000 servers installed. Users in our remote AD domain's can't get access to their mailboxes.
Domain Setup: The exchange 5.5 servers are in domain B. There is a two way trust between domain B and domain A. There is also a two way trust between domain A and domain C. Therefore a transitive trusts exists between domain B and domain C. Problem: Users in domain C can't access mailboxes on the exchange servers that are in domain B. The proper groups are in place. If I set up an explicit trust between domain B and domain C everything works. Question: Does Exchange 5.5 not accept transitive trusts or do I have to upgrade the OS to Windows 2000 in order for this to work without the explicit trust between B and C? Thanks in advance. I know this kind of sounded like an exam question.
