Fellow forumers, Has anyone else seen this particular problem under Ex2K SP2 ?
I have a number of users who have Delivery Options enabled on their mailbox to forward mails to additional Internet e-mail accounts. Whilst this process is being slowly mothballed out in favour of OWA, I've experienced some issues with forwarding. These remote mail accounts are setup as Windows Contacts in AD and a couple of these objects in the past have been removed by mistake and then had to be recreated. However, and this is where it becomes a little strange, mails which are replied to referencing the details of the deleted object cannot be delivered (unsurprisingly) BUT stick in the SMTP queue flagged as Retry, causing all other mails meanwhile to queue up behind them in the SMTP queue. Only by freezing the undeliverable messages are those behind processed. Looking in the details of the message, I can see the reference to the dead object, e.g. Envelope Recipients: EX:/O=MY COMPANY/OU=MYADMIN GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=User,Dead Aside from getting users to not to reply to mails which reference the dead object, is there any way I can prevent the queue from sticking ... I could reduce the number of retry attempts before dropping the mail on the SMTP VS but that seems like a poor option, particular where genuine connectivity problems occasionally do crop up =) Regards, Mylo _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
