If you have a Win2k domain can you forest prep & join an Exchange 5.5 Organisation in another domain running Nt4?
The reason I ask is that I am getting an error when I try this. The error happens immediately after entering the Exchange 5.5 server name (before I am asked for an account with admin access to Exchange 5.5). The error states: "Setup encountered an error while attempting to bind to the exchange server "Server10": 0XC103FC93 (6459): Could not bind to the Microsoft Exchange Directory server Server10. You do not have the permissions required to complete the operation" If it has not asked me for an account to connect to the Exchange 5 org at this point why is it stating a permissions error? We can ping server10 by name and we have the NT4 domain trusting the root domain and child domain. I am running forest prep from the root under the domain admins account.
