When tracking a message on our Exchange 5.5 server that was sent to our exchange 2000 server (both servers in the same site but the exchange 2000 server is in a different domain) we get the following error message
Message transferred to X.400 on server X The logfile \\servername\tracking.log\ddmmyy.log is not available. The Network name cannot be found. Microsoft Windows NT ID no: 0xc0020043� I have browsed to the trackinglog folder on the exchange 2000 server from the exchange 5.5 server and I can see the logfile but the share name is not tracking.log it is servername.log!!! When I add a new sharename to the exchange 2000 servername.log folder called tracking.log the error goes away! I have checked technet and can't find anything. Is this an error and unspoken sort of fix for the problem or is it the wrong thing to do?
