Lets say, for example, you had an exchange installation with an utterly destroyed IS. You want to do a restore of your last backup, and you have the transaction logs from the the point of the last backup onward. Your backup program needs the stores mounted and the IS service running in order to overwrite the IS. would it be safe, from a AD object point of view, to let exchange create a brand new set of DBs and then overwrite them with your good backup, or would the absence of data in the new DBs affect the Directory in some irreprable way? Please don't tell me to get a better backup program. Thx. Jeremy
