We have an Exchange 5.5 sp4 on win2k Server on our LAN. Our SMTP mail is delivered to this by 2 routes. The first/primary route is direct through the firewall ( which works fine ) and the second is relayed via an external IIS v5 SMTP machine. Every so often we get the following type of error (smtp 554 ) to our postmaster from the relayed SMTP machine ....
Reporting-MTA: dns;VENUS.ARTiSANSW.COM Received-From-MTA: dns;om33.yourmailsource.com Arrival-Date: Sun, 26 May 2002 08:32:36 +0100 Final-Recipient: rfc822;[EMAIL PROTECTED] Action: failed Status: 5.6.1 Diagnostic-Code: smtp;554 5.6.1 Body type not supported by Remote Host Now most of the mails that fail are HTML, but we can receive HTML mails fine by the primary route. I have checked that the virus checker is not interferring and the are no alerts near the time of the NDR messages. I have also checked that messages can be delivered through telnet to port 25, and that is OK through the IIS server so I dont understand what is wrong. any ideas Andy _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
