I just wanted to correct my earlier post. Sorry if I led anyone astray. OWA and other web clients running WebDav might encounter problems with some legacy proxy server's detecting the WebDav http verbs and not forward them.
However you should not experience this problem locally. The IIS SMTP server is merely a relay agent. I suspect Chris is correct in his response (I have no idea what he means though). The Win2k CDO object model does NOT allow you to tell CDO what server to use to send mail out. MAPI will by default send it out using your mail profile and hence your SMTP server.
