The InterOrg tool might help you with the public folder part.

Replicating directories between organizations
Avaliable options I'm aware of:
1. Compaq LDAP Directory Synchronization Utility (LDSU)
2. Microsoft Metadirectory Server
3. SimpleSync
4. MS Mail Dirsync (unsupported by Microsoft, but is supposed to work)
5. InterOrg tool
6. Your own code

Subject: Sharing Address Books in Exchange 2000

Hi all,
Is it possible for two companies with different AD forests and Exchange
Orgs to share Address Books and Public Folders? If yes, how?

I understad that Exchange 2000 totally relies on AD and it's almost like
asking Forest A to trust Forest B, which I havent't heard it's possible.

Thanks,
