Just adding the IP and name to your hosts file (and making sure the
necessary ports are open on the firewall) will allow it, but you should
probably consider a VPN instead to assist in securing the connection.  Keep
in mind it will be chatty as hell too, which usually ain't pretty over an
internet connection.
