This is what you can do. You can setup that server share on the iis
server as a virtual directory. Say
http://iisserver.domain.com/servershare, set on that virtual directory
"directory browsing allowed" and make sure you have read and write or
what ever permissions that you want, then create a folder called server
share under your inbox in outlook or whatever client you use then make
the default homepage of that folder
http://iisserver.domain.com/servershare . Now if you go into owa and
then click on that servershare folder under your inbox, it should try
and open that home page of that folder and it will try and open that
folder. This might work.

For this to work I need to know your owa setup. Is owa on your exchange
server or do you have an owa server that is separate than the exchange
server and sitting in a dmz, please tell me more about your owa setup
and depending on that you might have to open some more ports on your
firewall or set some rules to allow traffic to the server that the
servershare resides on for the above setup to work from outside without
being dialed in or vpn'd in.

thx

Subject: OWA and Drive Mappings

I have something I am trying in OWA but I am not sure that it can be
done or not.

I have a folder under my inbox that is setup as a link to a share on a
Win2K server. (\\SERVERNAME\Share). This works great while I am on the
network or when I am connected via a dial up/vpn connection. I can get
to my network share files without the need of a drive mapping.

Here is my situation. When I use Outlook Web Access and I click on this
folder, under my inbox, that links me to my Win2K server share, it tells
me that there are no items to view.

I am assuming this is not a supported feature with OWA or something may
not be configured on the Exchange Server to allow this type of access
while in OWA.

Anybody have any ideas.
