whats the rational for wanting E2K is such a small environment...which has other software which sounds like it HAS to have E55...and is likely working fine.... theys guy's must have money to burn bill -----Original Message----- From: James [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, July 10, 2002 12:00 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Need help with 5.5 to 2000 migration One of my clients is using a NT4.0 domain with a PDC and BDC with Exchange 5.5 for mail. They have decided they want to use Exchange 2000 for mail, and have asked me to do it. The problems I'm having are as follows. They need to keep the NT4.0 domain and exchange 5.5 running as the fax and telephony software they use does not work under win2k/Exch2k. I wouldn't normally find this a problem, but they only want to buy one new server, and to top it all off they are using NT4.0 SBS server, so the solution of using trust relationships between domains is out. My original plan was to setup a new win2k domain on the new machine, establish trusts between the two, and after moving user information across in the normal way (ADC, NTDSNOMATCH etc)install exchange 2k as a server in the existing 5.5 organization and move mailboxes and public folders over. Can anyone give me any alternative suggestions on how I can do this? SBS is causing me the problems because I can't use trusts, also upgrading NT4.0 SBS to W2K SBS is not an option, as they require their domain to stay as NT4.0 _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
