Are you sure there isn't a mail loop going on? I don't know of a whole lot else that would cause the IS to grow rapidly. Have you checked the mail queues? Do you have Automatic Replies to the Internet enabled? Couple things to check at least. You could also check your log files. If in fact there is a loop, you ought to have tons of log files. I don't necessarily always trust the information conveyed within Exchange Admin relating to Mailbox size and such. It can be inaccurate.

NT4 Sp6a. Exchange 5.5 SP4 w/OWA and IMC. For the past year and a half, our Information store has always been between 3 and 5 GB. In the last two weeks, it has jumped to over 15 GB and is growing rapidly. I pulled a list of total mailboxes and messages and I came up with a total of roughly 2.8 GB of data, a far cry from the 15.9 GB that my PRIV.EDB is showing. Any ideas what could be taking up so much space? and how to remove it/fix it? At this rate, I'm going to run out of drive space and the IS is gonna crash. Thanks for your help, everyone.
