There should always be hotfixes you don't have. You don't want all of
them. Especially not to fix a non-existent problem.

Karon

It's simple. Your manager is convinced that there are hotfixes that you
haven't found yet. Okay, just (for the sake of the argument), assume
he's right - always a good career move to give the boss the benefit of
the doubt. If/when you find the info about the hotfix that you don't
have, where are you going to get it from? Microsoft PSS, that's where.
So I assume your boss is happy to crash the $199 or whatever a PSS call
costs these days - and if he's right, and it's a hotfix, they'll refund
your card. So just short circuit the search, and ring PSS anyway - tell
'em the symptoms, and ask 'em for the hotfix. If they've got one, you
get it and your fee back, and your boss off your back. If not, PSS (not
you) prove him wrong, and the $199 he gambled is gone. Either way, so
is the problem.

When you ask him to gamble his $199, he might suddenly not be so sure
about a hotfix you don't have.

Let us know the outcome.
